This is a wonderful compilation of different resources for those of you interested in connecting your students to experiences from other places in the world, including an amazing TEDTalk on the importance of educationg girls and lesson plans on global topics. Last school year I had an entire period that was 96% female and talking with them about the importance of their education was a huge part of my curriculum.

This set of resources includes lessons that can be incorporated into your curriculums. In terms of Mathematics, I would recommend the Global Closet Calculator, when students are able to track the origins of their clothes and learn about the people who make them.

This is a wonderful online game tool to play with your students. You can set up a 3 question ticket out the door or you can play an entire review game with groups of students. I have used this so many time in my classroom that I am hoping you can use it in yours as well.

This application is a wonderful tool for getting information to your students. Students sign up for text message alerts through an online platform. You can customize your messages to your students and you can include parents into the server so that they can receive updates about their child's classroom.
